Description
The room is a small double, with adjacent private toilet and wash hand basin. The separate shower room and toilet (which is downstairs) is only shared when we have visitors, or the family staying, which is fairly infrequent. We would be responsible for cleaning.
We have a lovely, spacious and airy kitchen, with bifold doors opening onto the attractive garden, which can be used at any time, though we often cook between 5 - 6.30pm. There are two comfy chairs in addition to the kitchen table and chairs. There is a second fridge and freezer, mostly for the use of the lodger, together with a shared washing machine. We are happy to negotiate the use of kitchen crockery, utensils etc. A bike can be safely secured to the side of the house which is very out of the way.
Shorter stays can possibly be negotiated.
Excellent local links. Lee station 8 mins walk, Hither Green 10 mins walk, both going to London Bridge (approx. 11-12 mins), Charing Cross/Cannon St (approx. 20 mins); Blackheath station,15 min walk which also goes to Victoria (30 mins). The DLR in Lewisham can be reached on foot in 20 mins, or by frequent buses in 10 mins. The M25 can be reached by car via the A20 in 20 mins.
Our house is in a very quiet street (school street which restricts access). There is a Sainsburys in the adjacent street, plus a large Turkish shop, and other small shops. There are a number of pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance, particularly around all named stations. Blackheath village is very attractive, leading onto the heath and Greenwich Park. there is a park 4 mins away which has a cafe and tennis courts. There is an excellent studio gym 10 mins away which Fiona uses.
