Large peaceful ensuite attic room with kingsize Loaf bed
Overview
Description
We have a lovely bright attic room available for rent from January 2025 (or possibly before if necessary). The room is very large, light and recently re-decorated, with new black out blinds and a full professional clean, including carpet shampoo. We have a Loaf kingsize bed with new mattress which is super comfortable. Top quality Egyptian cotton bed linen, down pillows and either down or synthetic duvet, depending on lodger's preference. There's an ensuite shower room with a big (privacy glass) window. The bedroom overlooks our mature, tree lined, 30 metre garden, and is very quiet. This bedroom is the only room on our second floor, so feels private and separate from the other three bedrooms on the first floor. We are a professional couple in our early fifties, with a son and daughter both at university (they tend to come home in the holidays). I am a ceramic artist and pottery teacher (I have a garden studio but also work at a teaching studio three days a week), my husband works in advertising. We have a calm, friendly 11 year old lurcher and a 4 year old cat. Neither of the animals has access to the attic room. We would love to find a professional lodger to stay during the working week.
We are a 12 minute walk from either Willesden Green underground (Jubilee) or Queen's Park (Bakerloo and overground to Euston); a 7 minute walk to Kensal Rise overground, and the bus stop, which is 4 mins walk, can get you to Notting Hill Gate in 20mins. There are Lime bikes everywhere and getting a Lime bike pass has been a new thing for us this summer: a convenient and enjoyable way to travel. A resident's parking permit can be obtained to allow on street parking (the cost depends on car type, and length of permit).
We are in Kensal Rise, a lovely fashionable neighbourhood in Zone 2, with various good independent restaurants (Harvest, Parlour, The Rise are all great), good independent coffee places, and a Gails Bakery, all within 10 mins walk from our house. There are three local parks within a 4-10mins walk: Tiverton, King Edwards and Queen's Park. All are lovely for an evening stroll. We live on a safe, friendly and quiet road where most neighbours know and help each other out (we have an annual street party). Queen's Park, another charming London 'village', is a 10 min walk and has an independent bookshop, art gallery, great wine store and a general assortment of nice places to visit.
